In The Community

Resicon actively collaborates with public programs and sustainability-driven organizations to make cleaner, more energy-efficient living possible for everyone, especially those in underserved neighborhoods.

Every project we take on is fueled by our passion for service, dedication to integrity, and belief that everyone deserves a comfortable, sustainable home.

Since Resicon started, a large part of what we do has involved working with various low-income weatherization programs. We have installed several thousand heat pumps and other products for customers in these programs who would not otherwise have been likely to be able to afford this type of energy-efficient equipment. Our community involvement with low-income, aging, and disabled customers spans a wide area.

We provide services through King County Housing Authority, Seattle Office of Housing, Seattle Housing Authority, Pierce County Human Services, Snohomish County Human Services, King County Energize, Energy Smart Eastside, and Energize Shoreline.

Energize Programs

Energize King County

We are proud to be one of only a select few number of installers for King County’s Energize Program—a community-driven initiative aimed at helping residents in King County transition from fossil fuel-based heating to efficient, electric heat pumps.

Through this program, low-income households receive full coverage for installation costs, while moderate-income households receive 80% coverage.

Resicon’s role in this effort reflects our commitment to environmental stewardship, energy efficiency, and equitable access to clean energy solutions. With a team of over 20 professionals, Resicon offers multilingual support (including English, Spanish, and Korean) and partners with local governments and nonprofits to ensure a smooth installation process and long-term customer satisfaction.

This collaboration not only reduces utility costs and carbon emissions but also enhances indoor comfort and air quality for participating families.

Energize Thurston

Resicon is proud to support Energize Thurston, a regional initiative led by the Thurston Climate Action Team in collaboration with the Thurston Regional Planning Council. The program is designed to help residents across Thurston County transition to more energy-efficient, all-electric homes.

Energize Thruston aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve indoor air quality through electrification, specifically assisting homeowners to upgrade to a modern heat pump HVAC system.

Resican participates in this program as one of only four vetted installer and helps homeowners navigate rebates, financing options, and other decisions.

We believe in empowering local families with the knowledge and resources they need to make wise, sustainable energy choices—while maintaining high standards of comfort and reliability in their homes.

Energize Thurston is more than just an energy upgrade program—it’s a movement toward community-driven climate solutions, and we’re honored to be a trusted contractor supporting that mission.

Energize Shoreline

In support of the City of Shoreline’s climate action goals, Resicon is actively involved in the Energize Shoreline program, which focuses on replacing fossil fuel heating systems with clean, efficient electric heat pumps. The program helps homeowners understand the environmental and financial benefits of electrification while making upgrades more accessible through vetted contractors and incentive opportunities.

As a participating contractor, Resicon brings deep expertise in home energy systems and a long-standing reputation for quality service. We’ve also been designated as the sole installer for low-income households due to our program knowledge, industry experience, and compassion for helping homeowners in our communities.

We work closely with Shoreline residents to ensure every installation meets the city’s sustainability standards and exceeds expectations for comfort and performance. Energize Shoreline is a key example of how local leadership and community-based contractors can work together to create tangible environmental progress—one home at a time.

Samaki Commons

Samaki Commons is a 41-unit affordable housing community located in Seattle’s Rainier Valley, near the Othello light rail station. Developed by InterIm CDA and completed in 2009, this project was created to support low-income families—including larger households, individuals with disabilities, and those transitioning out of homelessness—while helping residents remain in their changing neighborhood.

A unique aspect of Samaki Commons is its close connection to the Lao Highland Community Center, which serves members of the Hmong, Kmhu, and Mien tribal communities. The proximity fosters cultural exchange and provides critical community support for Asian refugees and immigrants as they establish roots, pursue opportunity, and help their children succeed.

In early 2025, Resicon was selected by the Seattle Office of Housing and InterIm CDA to complete a comprehensive series of energy efficiency upgrades across all four buildings in the complex. Our work included:

  • Installing high-efficiency ductless heat pumps in every unit.
  • Enhancing ventilation systems for healthier indoor air.
  • Air sealing key areas to improve energy conservation.
  • Repairing existing heating systems.
  • Upgrading corridor air quality systems.
  • Overhauling domestic water delivery infrastructure.

These upgrades were designed to improve year-round comfort, reduce energy costs, and promote long-term sustainability for the residents. During final walkthroughs, many tenants shared heartfelt thanks and spoke to the meaningful impact these improvements would have on their daily lives.

Resicon is proud to play a role in preserving affordable housing while enhancing the quality of life for Samaki Commons residents. It’s projects like these that remind us why we do what we do—because everyone deserves a safe, healthy, and efficient place to call home.

Making Music Possible

Music serves as a powerful source of enjoyment, emotional expression, and social connection for people. It is extremely important for childhood development, playing a crucial role in various aspects of a child’s growth. It enhances cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor skills, contributing to a child’s overall well-being and future learning.

Almost every school offers music programs for its students, but often place the burden of obtaining an instrument on the students’ families. Unfortunately, many of the kids who are excited to learn how to play an instrument and want to be a part of the music program cannot afford a musical instrument.

In an effort to bridge this resource gap, Resicon has partnered with Ted Brown Music to donate instruments to students who cannot afford to buy an instrument. Ted Brown Music has a strong instrument donation program, and Resicon is grateful to be able to participate and help make the dreams of young children who want to make music come true!
